Sub-Riemannian and sub-Lorentzian geometry on SU(1,1) and on its universal cover (Q646791)

The authors study some properties of geodesics in sub-Riemannian and sub-Lorentzian geometries on SU(1,1) and on its universal cover. They establish a connection between the conjugate locus and the behavior of the geodesics in sub-Riemannian geometry. Also, they give a complete description of the two-point connectivity problem by sub-Lorentzian geodesics and prove that the reachable sets for the Lorentzian and sub-Lorentzian normal geodesics intersect but are not included in each other.
