    Let \(V\) be the smooth del Pezzo surface in \(\mathbb P^4\) defined by the system of equations \[ x_0 x_1- x_2 x_3= x^2_0+ x^2_1+ x^2_2- x^2_3- 2x^2_4= 0, \] let \(H: \mathbb P^4(\mathbb Q)\to\mathbb R_+\) be the height function given by \[ H([\vec a])= \max\{|a_0|, |a_1|, |a_2|, |a_3|, 2^{1/2} 3^{-1/2}|a_4|\}, \] where \([a]\in\mathbb P^4(\mathbb Q)\), \([\vec a]:= (a_0:\cdots: a_4)\) with \(a_i\in\mathbb Z\) for \(0\leq i\leq 4\) and h.c.f. \((a_0,\dots, a_4)= 1\), let \(U\) be the open subset formed by deleting the 16 lines from \(V\), and let \[ N_U(B):= \#\{y\mid y\in U(\mathbb Q),\,H(y)\leq B\}. \] The authors prove the following asymptotic formula: \[ N_U(B)= c(U) B(\log B)^4(1+ O(1/\log\log B)),\;c(U)> 0. \] Since the Picard group of \(V\) has rank 5, this asymptotic formula agrees with the Batyrev-Manin conjecture; moreover, the authors show that their constant \(c(U)\) agrees with the one predicted by Peyre. The proof of this result makes essential use of the authors' estimates obtained in their companion work, see \textit{R. de la Bretèche} and \textit{T. D. Browning} [J. Reine Angew. Math. 646, 1--44 (2010; Zbl 1204.11158)].
