    Let \(\Omega(x)/| x |^n\) be a homogeneous function of degree \(-n\) with \(\Omega \in L^{1}(S^{n-1})\) and \(\int_{S^{n-1}} \Omega(x') d\sigma(x') =0\), where \(x' = x/| x |\). For \(\rho \in {\mathbb C}\) with \(\text{Re}\, \rho >0\), we define the parametric Marcinkiewicz integral operator \(\mu_{\Omega}^{\rho}\) by \[ \mu_{\Omega}^{\rho}(f)(x) = \Big( \int_0^{\infty} \Big| \frac{1}{t^{\rho}} \int_{ | y | <t} \frac{\Omega(y') f(x-y)}{| y |^{n - \rho}} dy \Big|^2 \frac{dt}{t} \Big)^{1/2}. \] \textit{A. Al-Salman} [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 375, No. 2, 745--752 (2011; Zbl 1207.42014)] obtained a necessary and sufficient condition for the \(L^2\) boundedness of \(\mu_{\Omega}^{\rho}\) when \(\rho\) is a real number. The authors give the following necessary and sufficient condition when \(\rho\) is a complex number: \[ \sup_{\xi' \in S^{n-1}} \Big| \int_{S^{n-1}} \int_{S^{n-1}} \Omega(y') \overline{\Omega(z')} \log \Big( \frac{2} {| \xi' \cdot y' |^2 + | \xi' \cdot z' |^2} \Big)^{1/2} d\sigma(y') d\sigma(z') \Big| < \infty. \] Their proof is pretty much elementary.
