This paper deals with the stabilization of the following coupled elastic solids with voids: \[ \begin{aligned}\rho u_{tt}&= \text{ div }[C\epsilon(u))+\gamma\epsilon(u_t)+(b\varphi-\beta \theta)Id], \\ J\varphi_{tt}&=\text{ div} (\delta \nabla \varphi)-b\,\text{ div} \,u-\zeta \varphi+m\theta,\, \text{ in } \Omega\times (0,+\infty),\\ c\theta_t &=\text{ div} (k\nabla \theta)-\beta \text{ div} u_t-m\varphi_t.\end{aligned} \] with the initial conditions \[ u(x,0)=u^0(x),\,u_t(x,0)=u^1(x),\,\varphi(x,0)=\varphi^0(x),\,\varphi_t(x,0)=\varphi^1(x),\, \theta(x,0)=\theta^0(x) \text{ in } \Omega \] and the boundary conditions \[ u=0,\,\, \delta \nabla\varphi\cdot n=0,\,\, k\nabla\theta \cdot n=0 \text{ on } \Gamma\times (0,+\infty), \] where \(\Omega\) is a bounded domain of \(\mathbb{R}^d,\, d=1,2\) or 3 with Lipschitz boundary \(\Gamma\), and \(n\) is the unit outward normal vector along \(\Gamma\). The variables \(u=(u_i)_{i=1}^d\), \(\varphi\) and \(\theta\) are the displacement of the solid elastic material, the volume fraction and the temperature respectively. The coefficients \(\rho,\, b,\, \beta,\;\gamma,\, J,\, \zeta,\, m\) and \(c\) belong to \(L^\infty(\Omega)\), the matrices \(k\) and \(\delta\) are symmetric and belong to \(L^\infty(\Omega)^{d\times d}\) and the tensor \(C=(C_{ijkl})\) is such that \(C_{ijkl}=C_{jilk}=C_{klij}\in L^\infty(\Omega)\), all the indices running over the integers \(1,\ldots,d.\) Under suitable assumptions on the coefficients, the authors begin by proving that the system is well-posed. Then they show strong and polynomial stabilities of the system. The proofs are mainly based on some spectral properties of system coupling the elasticity system with diffusion equation on the one hand and the frequency domain approach on the other hand.
