Segal spaces are simplicial objects in the category of simplicial sets with additional properties that make them a useful model for \(\infty\)-categories. A \(d\)-tuple version can be constructed that is applicable to the study of \((\infty,d)\)-categories. The author defines \textit{pasting shapes} for iterated Segal spaces, as sets of boxes of dimension \(0,\ldots,d\) that fit together in specified ways. As is common in such constructions, a lot of written notation is needed to define rigorously a fairly intuitive class of geometric objects! He uses these to prove a pasting theorem for \(d\)-tuple Segal spaces.
