The notion of a prime ideal is an integral part of the theory of rings. As such, it has been generalized in many ways. One such line of generalization is in connection with the radical of a ring. Initially only for commutative rings and with respect to the nil radical, this has been generalized with respect to the other well-known radicals leading to, for example, primary ideals and nilary ideals. These have been extended to not necessarily commutative rings and with respect to special radicals. The class of special radicals includes all the well-known radicals; for example the prime, nil and Jacobson radicals.\N\NThis paper continues this tradition. The authors introduce the concept of (almost) right primary ideal associated with a special radical class. Amongst others, several equivalent conditions for an ideal to be a (an almost) right primary ideal are given and the image and the inverse image of a (an almost) right primary ideal under a ring homomorphism are investigated. A characterization of the rings in which every ideal is a right primary ideal with respect to the Jacobson radical is also given.\N\NA\ note of caution. In the \textit{Introduction}, for a radical \(\rho \) and an ideal \(I\) of a ring \(R,\) calling \(\rho ^{\ast }(I)\) the radical of the ideal \(I\) can be misleading. In general radical theory, the radical of an ideal \(I\) of a ring \(R\) is the ideal \(\rho (I)\) of \(I\) treating \(I\) as a ring in its own right. Rather, \(\rho ^{\ast }(I)\) is the unique ideal of \(R\) that contains \(I\) and for which \(\rho (R/I)=\rho ^{\ast }(I)/I.\)
