      In this nice paper, the author considers the pair of half-linear equations in the forms \N\[\N\left(|y^\prime |^{\alpha -1} y^\prime \right)^\prime + q_1 (t) |y |^{\alpha -1} y = 0,\tag{1}\N\]\N\[\N\left(|z^\prime |^{\alpha -1} z^\prime \right)^\prime + q_2 (t) |z |^{\alpha -1} z = 0, \tag{2}\N\]\Nwhere \(\alpha > 0\) and \(q_1, q_2\) are continuous functions. For these equations, he improves the classical Hille-Wintner theorem. The main result of the paper under review reads as follows.\N\NTheorem. Let \(Q_1, Q_2\) be continuously differentiable functions such that \N\[\NQ_1^\prime (t) = - q_1 (t), \qquad Q_2^\prime (t) = - q_2 (t) \N\]\Nfor all large \(t\). Let Eq. (2) be non-oscillatory. If \[ \left| v(t) - Q_2 (t) + Q_1 (t) \right| \le |v(t)| \] for all large \(t\), where \(v\) is a solution of \N\[\Nv^\prime + \alpha |v|^{1+\frac{1}{\alpha}} + q_2 (t) = 0, \N\]\Nthen (1) is non-oscillatory as well.\N\NAs consequences, several non-oscillation criteria are obtained. The paper also contains two illustrative examples.
