Almost Warfield groups. (Q658391)

This paper is a notable contribution to the structure theory of mixed Abelian groups of arbitrary rank. The author generalizes the class of almost totally projective \(p\)-groups to a class of mixed groups related to Warfield groups. He shows that almost Warfield groups satisfy mixed versions of several properties of totally projective \(p\)-groups. For example, an almost Warfield group is an almost strongly separable subgroup of any group in which it appears as an isotype subgroup. The main result is that an isotype knice subgroup of a Warfield group is almost Warfield.
