      Let \(\Omega\) be a bounded domain of \(\mathbb{R}^2\) with smooth boundary and consider the chemotaxis system\N\begin{align*}\N\partial_t u & = \mathrm{div} \big( D(v)\nabla u - u S(v) \nabla v \big) + f(u) \quad & \text{in } (0,\infty)\times\Omega, \\\N\kappa \partial_t v & = \Delta v -v + g(u) \quad & \text{in }(0,\infty)\times\Omega,\N\end{align*}\Nsupplemented with homogenous Neumann boundary conditions and non-negative initial conditions in \(W^{1,\infty}(\Omega)\). Here, \(\kappa\in\{0,1\}\), \(D\in C^2([0,\infty))\) is positive, \(S\in C^1([0,\infty))\cap W^{1,\infty}(0,\infty)\) is non-decreasing, and the nonlinear logistic source term \(f\) and signal production \(g\) are given by\N\[\Nf(u) = r u - \mu \frac{u^2}{\ln^p{(u+e)}}, \qquad (r,\mu,p)\in \mathbb{R}\times (0,\infty)\times \left[ 0,1-\frac{\kappa}{2} \right),\N\]\Nand\N\[\Ng(u) = u \ln^q{(u+e)}, \qquad q\in \left[ 0 , 1 - \frac{\kappa}{2} - p \right).\N\]\NIt is by now well-known that a quadratic logistic source (\(p=0)\) prevents finite time blowup in the classical Keller-Segel chemotaxis system (\(D=S\equiv 1\), \(q=0\)) and such a result is extended here to logarithmic perturbations for sufficiently small values of \(p\) and \(q\). More precisely, the existence and uniqueness of a global classical solution are shown, along with its boundedness in \(L^\infty(\Omega)\times W^{1,\infty}(\Omega)\). The starting point of the proof is the derivation of time-independent estimates on \(u\ln^k{(u+e)}\) for any \(k\ge 1\) when \(\kappa=0\) and \(k\in (1,2-p)\) when \(\kappa=1\).
