In this paper, the author gives a formulation of \(\ell\)-adic local Langlands correspondence (LLC) for a general connected reductive groups \(G\) defined over a non-archimedean local field \(F\). Let \(char(F)=p\) and a prime \(\ell \neq p\). Fix an isomorphism \(\iota : \mathbb{C} \rightarrow \bar{\mathbb{Q}}_{\ell}\). One can transfer the LLC over \(\mathbb{C}\) to a LLC over \(\bar{\mathbb{Q}}_{\ell}\) called \(\ell\)-adic LLC, which depends on the choice of the isomorphism \(\iota\). \textit{C. J. Bushnell} and \textit{G. Henniart} [The local Langlands conjecture for \(\text{GL}(2)\). Berlin: Springer (2006; Zbl 1100.11041)] have defined an \(\ell\)-adic LLC for \(\mathrm{GL}_2\) which is independent of the choice of \(\iota\). This paper defines an \(\ell\)-adic LLC and conjectures that it is independent of the choice of the isomorphism \(\iota\). This is achieved in the following way.\N\NLet \(\mathrm{Irr}(G(F))\) and \(\mathrm{Irr}_{\ell}(G(F))\) be the set of equivalence classes of irreducible smooth representations of \(G(F)\) over \(\mathbb{C}\) and over \(\bar{\mathbb{Q}}_{\ell}\), respectively. Let \(\Phi(G)\) denotes the set of \(\mathrm{L}\)-parameters for \(G\). The author introduces two notions of parameters namely, \(\ell\)-adic \(\mathrm{C}\)-parameter for \(G\), where \(\mathrm{C}\) is a field of characteristic zero and Tannakian \(\ell\)-adic \(L\)-parameter for \(G\). Let \(\Phi_{\ell}^{\mathrm{C}}(G)\) and \(\Phi_{\ell}^{\mathrm{T}}(G)\) denotes the set equivalence classes of \(\ell\)-adic \(\mathrm{C}\)-parameters for \(G\) and Tannakian \(\ell\)-adic \(L\)-parametes for \(G\), respectively. The (usual) conjectured LLC is a surjective map \(\mathrm{LL}_{G} :\mathrm{Irr}(G(F)) \rightarrow \Phi(G)\) with finite fibres satisfying various properties. The following two LLCs are defined in this paper\N\[\N\mathrm{LL}^{\mathrm{C}, \iota}_{G, \ell} : \mathrm{Irr}_{\ell}(G(F)) \rightarrow \Phi_{\ell}^{\mathrm{C}}(G)\N\]\Nand\N\[\N\mathrm{LL}^{\mathrm{T}, \iota}_{G, \ell} : \mathrm{Irr}_{\ell}(G(F)) \rightarrow \Phi_{\ell}^{\mathrm{T}}(G).\N\]\NThe main conjectures in the paper are the following\N\begin{itemize}\N\item[1.] \(\mathrm{LL}^{\mathrm{C}, \iota}_{G, \ell}\) is independent of the choice of \(\iota\).\N\item[2.] \(\mathrm{LL}^{\mathrm{T}, \iota}_{G, \ell}\) is independent of the choice of \(\iota\).\N\end{itemize}\NOne of the main theorem is that there is a canonical bijection between \(\Phi_{\ell}^{\mathrm{C}}(G)\) and \(\Phi_{\ell}^{\mathrm{T}}(G)\), which gives a corollary that the above two conjectures are equivalent. Moreover, it is proved that these conjectures are true for the groups \(\mathrm{GL}_n\) and \(\mathrm{PGL}_n\).
