A metric nilpotent Lie algebra \(\mathfrak n\) is nilsoliton, if the endomorphism \(D={\operatorname{Ric}}-\beta{\operatorname{Id}}\) is a derivation of the Lie algebra \(\mathfrak n\). A nilmanifold is nilsolition if the corresponding metric nilpotent Lie algebra is nilsoliton. Many nilpotent Lie groups admit nilsoliton metrics, which are distinguished metrics, because, if they exist, they are unique and they are critical points of a natural Riemannian functional. Nilsoliton nilmanifolds are related with Einstein solvmanifolds. Using this relation, descriptions of the moduli space of nilsoliton nilmanifolds around horospheres for symmetric spaces of noncompact type were obtained in previous works. For distinguishing nonisometric metric Lie algebras, in some previous works, the \(J\)-operator and its eigenvalues were used. Another approach is using geometric invariant theory. In the present paper, new methods for distinguishing monisometric nilsoliton metric Lie algebras are presented. New continuous families of nilsoliton metric Lie algebras are described, including deformations of algebras of generalized Heisenberg type and deformations of uniform metric Lie algebras in general. The new invariants are used to show that the nilsoliton metric Lie algebras in the continuous families are pairwise nonisometric.
