Symmetric hyperbolic systems in algebras of generalized functions and distributional limits (Q663668)

In the framework of Colombeau-type algebras of generalized functions, the Cauchy problem for linear first order hyperbolic systems of partial differential equations is studied. The authors give results on existence and uniqueness of a generalized solution to the Cauchy problem, and then they investigate the relation of the obtained unique generalized solution to the classical and weak or distributional solution concepts.
