The authors are concerned with Julia sets of degree-two rational functions. With some effort they construct a two parameter canonical form \(f_{a,b}(z)= {az(1- z)\over 1- bz}\), (\(a\neq 0\), \(b\neq 1\)). For the corresponding real family \((a,b\in \mathbb{R})\) the cases where the Julia set \(J= J_{a,b}\) is a Cantor set in \(\widehat{\mathbb{R}}\), a real interval (including \(\widehat{\mathbb{R}}\)), or is not a subset of \(\widehat{\mathbb{R}}\), are considered. In several cases, the lower bound \({\log 2\over\log a-\log| b-1|}\) is obtained for the Hausdorff-dimension of \(J_{a,b}\). It is also shown that the Hausdorff-dimension is not real-analytic as a function of \(b\) at \(b=1\), for fixed \(a> 1\).
