The local Langlands program conjectures a classification of irreducible smooth representations of \(p\)-adic groups by orbits of groups on certain geometric parameter spaces. Using equivariant \(K\)-homology on the flag variety \textit{D. Kazhdan} and \textit{J. Lusztig} [Invent. Math. 87, 153-215 (1987; Zbl 0613.22004)] were able to prove the conjecture for tamely ramified representations, i.e. representations with nonzero vectors fixed by the Iwahori subgroup. These representations are naturally given by modules of the Iwahori-Hecke algebra. The latter carries a natural involution named in the title of the paper. On the other hand Fourier transform induces an involution on the parameter space and so it is quite natural to ask how these two involutions are related. The present paper gives the answer in stating that, up to a natural twist, they agree on tamely ramified representations. The proof requires restating the constructions of Kazhdan and Lusztig and to keep track of the action of the Iwahori-Matsumoto involution.
