    The paper deals with the time dependent Schrödinger equation with a real potential \(V(t,x)\): \[ i{\partial u\over\partial t}=-{1\over 2}\Delta u+ V(t,x)u\quad\text{in }\mathbb{R}^1\times\mathbb{R}^m.\tag{1} \] The main result of the author is that: (a) if \(V\) is ``sub-quadratic'', i.e., \(\lim_{|x|\to\infty}|\partial^\alpha_x V(t, x)|=0\) uniformly with respect to \(t\in\mathbb{R}^1\) for all \(|\alpha|= 2\), then the fundamental solution of (1) \(E(t, s,x,y)\) is smooth and bounded with respect to \((x,y)\) for any \(t\neq s\); (b) if \(m=1\), \(V(t,x)= V(x)\) is ``super-quadratic'', i.e., \(V(x)\geq C(1+|x|)^{2+\varepsilon}\) at infinity, \(C>0\), \(\varepsilon>0\), then \(E(t,s,x,t)\) is nowhere \(C^1\).
