    Let \(\mathbb B_s\) denote the unit ball in \(\mathbb C^s\), and, for \(m\in\mathbb N\), let \((\mathbb B_s)^m_{Sym}\) denote the set of all unordered \(m\)-tuples \(\langle z^1,z^2,\dots, z^m\rangle\), where \(z^j\in\mathbb B_s\), \(j=1,2,\dots,m\). Observe that \((\mathbb B_s)^m_{Sym}\) is a complex analytic space and, for any map \(g:\mathbb B_s\to\mathbb B_s\), one can define a map \(g^m_{Sym}:(\mathbb B_s)^m_{Sym}\to(\mathbb B_s)^m_{Sym}\) by the formula \[ g^m_{Sym}(\langle z^1,z^2,\dots, z^m\rangle)=\langle g(z^1),g(z^2),\dots, g(z^m)\rangle. \] The main result of the paper is the following theorem. Let \(s\geq2\), \(m\geq2\), and let \(f:(\mathbb B_s)^m_{Sym}\to(\mathbb B_s)^m_{Sym}\) be a proper holomorphic map. Then there exists a holomorphic automorphism \(g:\mathbb B_s\to\mathbb B_s\) such that \(f=g^m_{Sym}\). Since \((\mathbb B_1)^m_{Sym}\) is biholomorphic to the symmetrized \(m\)-disc \(\mathbb G_m\), the above-mentioned result is a generalization of the theorem proved by \textit{A.~Edigarian} and \textit{W.~Zwonek} in [Arch. Math. 84, No. 4, 364--374 (2005; Zbl 1068.32012)].
