The authors consider Rayleigh-type \(p\)-Laplacian equations with deviating argument of the form \[ \frac{d}{dt}[\Phi_p(u'(t))]+f(t,u'(t))+g(t,u(t-\tau(t)))=e(t), \] where \(p>1\) and \(\Phi_p:\mathbb{R}\to\mathbb{R}\) is defined by \(\Phi_p(x)=|x|^{p-2}x\) for \(x\neq 0\) and \(\Phi_p(0)=0\), and \(f,g,\tau,e\) are continuous functions which are \(T\)-periodic in \(t\). First, it is proved the existence of a \(2kT\)-periodic solution for each \(k\geq 1\). Then, a homoclinic solution is obtained as limit of a subsequence of periodic solutions. The main tool used is Mawhin's continuation theory.
