Spaces of directed paths on pre-cubical sets (Q681330)

The author constructs for a sufficiently good precubical set \(K\) a CW-complex \(W(K)_v^w\) that is homotopy equivalent to the space of directed paths between given vertices \(v\) and \(w\) of \(K\). The interest of such a construction is that \(W(K)_v^w\) models the spaces of possible execution paths from \(v\) to \(w\) in the concurrent process modelled by \(K\). This construction is functorial with respect to \(K\) and minimal among all functorial constructions (i.e. no cell can be removed without losing functoriality). Furthermore, explicit formulas for incidence numbers of the cells of \(W(K)_v^w\) are provided.
