The paper studies cyclic complementary extensions of a finite group \(A\), namely finite groups \(G=AC\) with \(A \cap C=\{1_G\}\) and \(C\) cyclic. For a fixed generator \(c\) of the cyclic factor, the relation \(cx=\varphi(x)c^{\Pi(x)}\) determines a skew-morphism \(\varphi\) of \(A\) together with a function \(\Pi:A\to \mathbb{Z}_n\). The paper introduces the notion of extended power function associated with a skew-morphism and shows that this function is the additional datum needed to describe arbitrary cyclic complementary extensions, including those which do not arise as skew-products.\N\NOne of the main results establishes a correspondence between cyclic complementary extensions of \(A\) by a cyclic group of order \(n\) and pairs \((\varphi,\Pi)\) consisting of a skew-morphism \(\varphi\) of \(A\) and an extended power function \(\Pi:A\to \mathbb{Z}_n\) of \(\varphi\). The paper also gives an isomorphism criterion for the corresponding extensions in terms of conjugacy of the skew-morphisms by automorphisms of \(A\) and compatibility of the associated extended power functions.
