The paper investigates the linear inverse and ill-posed source problem for the Boltzmann equation taking into account for the absorption coefficient and the scattering kernel. There is also an extra variable \(\theta \in \mathbb{S}^{2}\) in addition to the usual space and time variables. Zero initial condition and final-time dependent variable measurement are assumed in the inverse formulation. Two stability results are obtained provided that the measured data is in \(H^{5/2}\), hence not noisy, and that the source is supported in a fixed compact support.
