The author uses group theory to obtain polynomial identities, including those of Norrie, Rao and Vaserstein. The identities are related with systems of homogeneous linear equations. These systems have certain symmetries. The author finds bases for the solution spaces with the same symmetries. Although he did not obtain any useful new identities, this approach may lead to new developments.
