This paper introduces a class of randomness measures (termed \(N\)-randomness measures) based on a pseudometric approach, and systematically investigates the properties of these measures. The paper further focuses on a special type of the proposed randomness measures -- the Gini randomness measure -- and explores how the Gini randomness measure outperforms entropy in certain aspects, such as the value validity property. The \(N\)-randomness measure introduced in this paper is applicable only to discrete random variables with a finite number of outcomes, and is not suitable for random variables with infinite support.
