The paper under review studies matrix representations of virtual and welded braid groups, generalizing the classical Burau and Gassner representations. For the welded pure braid group \(WP_n\), the author develops a systematic construction based on the action of \(WP_n\) on a free group and the relative augmentation ideal. This yields a family of faithful representations \(\Psi_n\) and their iterated versions, recovering in particular the extended Gassner representation and producing tensor products of such representations.\N\NFor the virtual braid group \(VB_n\), the author introduces a variant of the Burau representation depending on three parameters and shows that it factors through both the welded braid group and the opposite welded braid group. Moreover, the paper defines a two-parameter virtual Iwahori-Hecke algebra, viewed as an extension of the classical Iwahori-Hecke algebra by adding virtual crossings and observes a connection with the virtual Temperley-Lieb algebra previously studied by \textit{L. Paris} and \textit{L. Rabenda} [J. Knot Theory Ramifications 30, No. 6, Article ID 2150041, 36 p. (2021; Zbl 1541.57010)].
