This article investigates a reaction-diffusion system with widely separated diffusivities and uncovers families of spatially periodic canard solutions originating from singular Turing bifurcations. The small-amplitude periodic patterns emerging near these bifurcations form spatial canards that oscillate around the homogeneous equilibrium, mirroring the appearance of limit-cycle canards near Hopf bifurcations in time-dependent ODEs. The authors also identify large-amplitude spatial canards with a clear fast-slow spatial structure. Numerical simulations show that several of these canard patterns act as attractors. Using geometric desingularization, they analyze reversible folded singularities of the spatial ODE system, especially two reversible folded saddle-node bifurcations, and show that these structures organize both small- and large-amplitude canards.
