The author continues the study of symplectically self-polar convex bodies initiated in [\textit{M. Berezovik} and \textit{R. Karasev}, ``Symplectic polarity and Mahler's conjecture'', Preprint, \url{arXiv:2211.14630}]. For a convex body \(X\subset \mathbb{R}^{2n}\), its \textit{symplectic polar} is defined by\N\[\NX^\omega=\{y\in \mathbb{R}^{2n} : \omega(x,y)\le 1 \text{ for all } x\in X\},\N\]\Nwhere \(\omega\) is the standard symplectic form, and \(X\) is called \textit{symplectically self-polar} if \(X=X^\omega\). The paper is concerned with extremal problems for such bodies, especially those involving the Ekeland-Hofer-Zehnder capacity (denoted \(c_{EHZ}\)) and volume.\N\NThe main construction in the paper is a new dimension-raising operation, the \textit{symplectic \(P\)-suspension}, where \(P\subset \mathbb{R}^2\) is the symplectically self-polar hexagon of minimal area. The author proves that this construction preserves symplectic self-polarity and gives precise formulas for the change in volume (Theorem 2.10) and affine cylindrical capacity (Theorem 2.12). Iterating the construction produces a family of symplectically self-polar polytopes \(P_n\) in \(\mathbb{R}^{2n}\); see Section 3.\N\NThe principal result shows that the polytopes \(P_n\) attain the lower bound\N\[\Nc_{EHZ}(X)\ge 2+\frac1n\N\]\Nfor a symplectically self-polar convex body \(X\) (see Theorem 1.1) [\textit{A. V. Akopyan} and \textit{R. Karasev}, ``Estimating symplectic capacities from lengths of closed curves on the unit spheres'', Preprint, \url{arXiv:1801.00242}]. More precisely, the author proves that\N\[\Nc_{EHZ}(P_n)=2+\frac1n,\N\]\Nwhich shows that this lower bound is sharp; see Theorem 1.2.\N\NThe paper also derives explicit formulas for the volume and the number of vertices of the polytopes \(P_n\), and proves that their affine cylindrical capacity is minimal. In addition, it discusses the related problem of minimal volume for symplectically self-polar convex bodies. In dimension \(2\), the minimiser is shown to be the hexagon \(P\), unique up to linear symplectomorphism. In higher dimensions, the author presents numerical experiments and conjectures that the symplectically self-polar polytopes \(P_n\) are minimisers (Conjecture 4.5).
