Let \(R\) be a polynomial ring \(k[x_1, \dots, x_d]\) over a field and \(I\) an \((x_1, \dots, x_d)\)-primary ideal minimally generated by homogeneous elements \(f_1\), \dots, \(f_{d+1}\) of the same degree. In the present paper, the authors study the defining ideal \(L\) of the Rees algebra of \(I\), that is, the kernel of the \(R\)-algebra homomorphism \[ S = R[T_1, \dots, T_{d+1}] \to R[t], \quad T_i \mapsto f_i t. \] Firstly they gave an upper bound of the degree of generators of \(L\) by using the multiplicity of \(I\) (Theorem 2.5). Next the homogeneous component \(L_2\) was studied if the \(d^{\text{th}}\) Fitting invariant of \(I\) is a power of \((x_1, \dots, x_d)\). Theorem 3.9 give the strict bound of the degree of the coefficients of generators of \(L_2\). Finally Proposition 4.10 computes \(L\) if \(d = 4\) and \(f_1\), \dots, \(f_5\) are of degree \(2\).
