The paper deals with the positive, radial solutions of the nonlinear biharmonic equation \[ \Delta ^2 \varphi = \varphi ^p\qquad x\in \mathbb R^n. \] Such solutions are known to exist when \(n>4\) and \(p\geq \frac{n+4}{n-4}\) but they fail to exist otherwise. There is a critical power \(p_c\) such that solutions are linearly stable if and only if \(p\geq p_c.\) The author studies their asymptotic expansion at infinity in the case that \(p \geq p_c\).
