The authors consider a supercritical biharmonic equation with a power \(p\) like nonlinearity in \(\mathbb R^N\), \(N \geq 4\). The authors introduce a second critical exponent \(p_c\). Assuming \(p<p_c\) they prove that every regular radial solution oscillate around a singular radial solution. No such solutions occur if \(p \geq p_c\). The authors also study a semilinear biharmonic equation of the form \(\lambda(1+u)^p\), \(\lambda >0\) and the related Dirichlet problem in the unit ball. If \(\lambda^\star\) is the extremal parameter, the extremal radial solution associated to \(\lambda^\star\) is regular if \(p<p_c\).
