In Euclidean space \(\mathbb{R}^{n+1}\) with unit ball \(B\), let \(K\) be a (sufficiently) smooth convex body with support function \(h>0\) and Gauss curvature \(\mathcal{K}\). The following theorem is due to several authors, with increasing generality: If \(\mathcal{K}=h\), then \(K=B\). The present paper improves this to the stability result \N\[\N\delta_2(\bar K,B)\leq\gamma\left(\frac{\max\frac{h}{\mathcal{K}}}{\min\frac{h}{\mathcal{K}}}-1 \right)^{\frac{1}{2}},\N\]\Nwhere \(\delta_2\) denotes the \(L_2\)-distance, \(\bar K\) is an explicitly given homothet of \(K\), and \(\gamma\) is a constant depending on the dimension. The proof can use ideas from \textit{M. N. Ivaki} and \textit{E. Milman} [Adv. Math. 435, Part A, Article ID 109350, 11 p. (2023; Zbl 1532.35004)] (where the case \(\mathcal{K}=h\) was given a short proof), but only partially. As the title indicates, the assumption can be interpreted as saying that the density of the cone-volume measure (with respect to spherical Lebesgue measure) is nearly constant. A corollary of the result concerns solutions of the regular logarithmic Minkowski problem. The present approach also allows the authors to establish the uniqueness of solutions of \(\mathcal{K}=h^{1-p}\) for \(-n-1<p\leq 0\).
