Under consideration is the Cauchy problem for the wave equation \N\[\Nu_{tt}-\Delta u + V(t,x)u +h(t,x) u^3=f,\ u|_{t=0}=0,\ x\in \mathbb{R}^3,\ t\in (0,T).\tag{1}\N\]\NLet \(U=(0,T)\times B_\rho\), \(B_\rho=\{x:|x|<\rho\}\). A solution to the problem is sought in the class \(\mathcal{H}^s((0,T)\times \mathbb{R}^3)=\cap_{i=0}^s C^k([0,T];H^{s-i}(\mathbb{R}^3))\). It is constructed the mapping \(f\to u_f|_{U}\), with \(f\in\mathcal{H}^s((0,T)\times \mathbb{R}^3)\), \(\operatorname{supp}f\subset U\), and \(u_f\) is a solution to the problem (1) from \(\mathcal{H}^s((0,T)\times \mathbb{R}^3)\). It is proven that the procedure of recovering the potentials \(V,h\) through this mapping is stable in a certain sense and the corresponding stability estimates hold.
