The paper studies a new family of summation-integral type operators constructed from the semiexponential Baskakov operators with weights coming from the semiexponential Szász-Mirakyan operators. After introducing the operator \(G_n^\sigma\), the authors first establish its approximation and convergence properties in the real domain. They then extend the analysis to the complex plane, obtaining upper bounds, a Voronovskaja-type theorem, and the exact order of approximation for analytic functions on compact disks.\N\NThe results generalize several classical schemes in approximation theory, notably those of Szász-Mirakyan, Baskakov, and Post-Widder, and they connect recent work on semiexponential operators by \textit{U. Abel} et al. [Rev. R. Acad. Cienc. Exactas Fís. Nat., Ser. A Mat., RACSAM 116, No. 2, Paper No. 87, 12 p. (2022; Zbl 1493.41013)].\N\NThe paper is mathematically sound and written in a clear and systematic manner. Proofs are detailed and make consistent use of classical techniques such as the weighted modulus of continuity, the Korovkin theorem, and Bernstein's inequality. The transition from real to complex approximation follows the framework developed by S. Gal, and the authors successfully adapt it to the hybrid operator considered here.\N\NThe novelty lies mainly in combining two semiexponential operator families into a single hybrid operator and in obtaining quantitative convergence results in a complex setting. The results appear correct and extend previous findings in a meaningful way. The exposition is generally good, although some notational redundancies could be streamlined.
