The authors present a general input-to-state stability (ISS)-type small-gain result. The small-gain theorem is proved for ISS operators, and the classical statement for ISS systems in state-space form is recovered. Applications are described for incrementally stable systems, detectable systems, and for interconnections of stable systems.
