This is a very interesting paper that investigates the PDE: \(\partial_{t}^{\alpha} - \Delta u + q(x)f(u)=r(x,t)\) where \(\alpha \in (0,1]\). In case \(\alpha =1\), the classical parabolic heat operator is retrieved. The homogeneous boundary conditions of Neumann (adiabatic) and Robin type are supplied. An initial condition at \(t=0\) is also provided. The identifications of the space-dependent reaction coefficient \(q(x)\) (prescribed at a single point) and the law of reaction \(f(u)\) from various types of additional practical measurements of \(u\) on a portion of the boundary \(\Gamma \subset \partial \Omega\) and/or at the final time \(t=t\) are investigated. The direct problem is analysed in Section 2, whilst Section 3 presents an iterative scheme of reconstruction of \(q(x)\) and \(f(u)\). Although numerical results are illustrated in Figure 1, the explicit expressions of the exact \(\mathcal{B}\), \(q(x)\), \(f(u)\), \(r(x,t)\), \(u_{0}(x)\) and \(u(x,t)\) used in Section 4 are not provided. Section 5 establishes the uniqueness of inverse problem solution and convergence of the fixed point scheme in the classical parabolic reaction-diffusion case with \(\alpha =1\) and the final data induced by two different sources \(r^{1}\) and \(r^{2}\) being measured.
