      The authors prove the existence of nontrivial solutions for the following class of second-order singular Hamiltonian systems in \(\mathbb R^N (N\geq 2)\): \N\[\N\ddot q +\nabla V(q)=0,\quad q(t)\notin D,\N\]\Nwhere \(V:\mathbb R^N\setminus \to \mathbb R\) has a strict global maximum \(0\) at the origin and \(D\) is a compact set of singularities (with \(C^2\)-boundary), i.e., \(V(q)\to -\infty\) as \(\mathrm{dist} (q,D)\to 0\). \(V\) is of the type \( V(q)\sim -\mathrm{dist}(q,D)^\alpha\) for some \(\alpha >0\).
