The book consists of twelve chapters. Part 1 ``Concepts and methods'' (chapters 1-6) contains the basic concepts of design-oriented analysis and various reanalysis methods, including local and global approximations. In part 2 ``Unified analysis'' (chapters 7-12) the concepts and methods presented in part 1 are integrated into a unified approach to effective reanalysis of structures which is needed in many areas such as structural optimization, analysis of damaged structures, nonlinear analysis, probabilistic analysis, controlled structures, smart structures and adaptive structures. The purpose of the book is to collect together the above topics and to clarify them by many illustrative examples and numerical results. The book can be used by students, engineers and scientists working in aerospace, automotive, and mechanical and civil engineering.
