This paper provides examples of Hamiltonian diffeomorphisms that have a dynamical complexity that is not observable using filtered Floer theory. The author constructs Hamiltonian diffeomorphisms that are minimal in the sense of Floer theory but have positive topological entropy. Minimality here means that the barcode of the Floer complex of all iterates of these maps has only infinite bars.\N\NThe setting is as follows: \(\varphi\) is a Hamiltonian diffeomorphism of a closed symplectically aspherical symplectic manifold \((M, \omega)\). The author shows that the product manifold \((M \times \mathbb{T}^{2n}, \omega \bigoplus \omega_{irr})\) (with \(2n > 2)\) is an irrational torus (sometimes called Zehnder's torus) that admits a Hamiltonian diffeomorphism \(\psi\) that contains (on an invariant set) the dynamics of \(\varphi\) with \(h_{top} (\psi) \geq h_{top}(\varphi)\) with these properties: the periodic points of \(\psi\) are the fixed points, the fixed point set is the union of smooth submanifolds, all iterates of \(\psi^k\) are Morse-Bott nondegenerate, and their Floer barcode consists of only infinite bars. These the author calls generalized pseudo rotations.\N\NBarcode entropy was introduced in [\textit{E. Cineli} et al., Math. Z. 308, No. 4, Paper No. 73, 38 p. (2024, Zbl 1558.53075)]. Its is shown in that paper that the topological entropy bounds the barcode entropy from above, and that the two quantities are equal for Hamiltonian diffeomorphisms of closed surfaces. In this paper, the author shows that such an equality does not hold unconditionally in higher dimensions.
