Given a metric space \((X, d)\), denote by \(CL(X)\) the family of nonempty closed subsets of \(X\). Moreover, if \(A\in CL(X)\) and \(\varepsilon>0\), then \N\[\NB_{d}(A, \varepsilon)=\left\{ \,{x\in X}: d(x, A)<\varepsilon \, \right\} \N\]\Nwill stand for the open \(\varepsilon\)-hull of \(A\), and \(B_{d}(A, \varepsilon)\) will be used instead of \(B_{d}(\left\{ \,{x} \, \right\} , \varepsilon)\). The Hausdorff distance is defined via\N\[\NH_{d}(A_{0}, A_{1})=inf \left\{ \,{\varepsilon>0 }: A_{0} \subseteq B_{d}(A_{1}, \varepsilon) \text{ and } A_{1} \subseteq B_{d}(A_{0}, \varepsilon)\, \right\} ,\N\]\Nwhenever \(A_{0}, A_{1}\in CL(X)\).\N\NIn this paper the following results are proved:\N\N\textbf{Theorem 2.1.} If \((X, d)\) is completely metrizable and \((\widetilde{X}\backslash X, \widetilde{d})\) is separable, then \((CL(X), \tau_{H_{d}})\) is completely metrizable.\N\N\textbf{Theorem 2.2.} (CH) If \((CL(X), \tau_{H_{d}})\) is hereditarily Baire, then \(\widetilde{X}\backslash X\) is separable.\N\N\textbf{Theorem 2.3.} (CH) The following are equivalent:\N\N(1) \((CL(X), \tau_{H_{d}})\) is complete metrizable.\N\N(2) \((X, d)\) is complete metrizable and \((\widetilde{X}\backslash X, \widetilde{d})\) is separable.\N\N\textbf{Proposition 3.1.} Let \((X, d)\) be a metric space, and \(E\subseteq \mathbb{R}\) be of cardinality at most the density of \(\widetilde{X}\backslash X\).\N\N(1) If \((CL(X), \tau_{H_{d}})\) is completely metrizable, then \(C_{+}(E, S)\) is completely metrizable.\N\N(2) If \((CL(X), \tau_{H_{d}})\) is hereditarily Baire, then \(C_{+}(E, S)\) is hereditarily Baire.\N\N\textbf{Proposition 3.2.} The space \(C_{+}(\mathbb{R}\setminus \mathbb{Q}, S)\) contains a closed copy of the rationals, so \(C_{+}(\mathbb{R}\setminus \mathbb{Q}, S)\) is not completely metrizable.\N\N\textbf{Proposition 3.3.} Let \(E\subseteq \mathbb{R}\) be a nonmeager nowhere locally compact space. Then \(C_{+}(E, S)\) is not completely metrizable.
