The authors prove that the sequence of fractional parts of \((\alpha (\log n)^A)_{n \geq 1}\), where \(\alpha >0\) and \(A>1\) are fixed, has Poissonian correlations of all orders and Poissonian neighbor spacings. This is quite remarkable, since only very few explicit deterministic sequences have been proven to exhibit this sort of pseudorandom behavior. The proof uses exponential sum methods (stationary phase, van der Corput's B-process) together with some linear algebra.
