Finite group actions on lens spaces other than \(\mathbb{RP}^3\) that respect a genus-\(1\) Heegaard decomposition are classified in [\textit{J. Kalliongis} and \textit{A. Miller}, Topology Appl. 130, No. 1, 19--55 (2003; Zbl 1020.57015)]. The present paper resolves this problem for non-abelian group actions on \(\mathbb{RP}^3\), while abelian group actions are classified in [\textit{J. Kalliongis} and \textit{R. Ohashi}, Rend. Ist. Mat. Univ. Trieste 54, Paper No. 1, 44p. (2022; Zbl 1515.57024)]. The main theorem of the present paper states that there are exactly seven equivalence classes of orientation-reversing, finite, non-abelian group actions on \(\mathbb{RP}^3\) that respect a genus-\(1\) Heegaard decomposition, corresponding to the homeomorphism types of quotient spaces as orbifolds. This theorem is based on a result in [\textit{J. Kalliongis} and \textit{R. Ohashi}, Ill. J. Math. 65, No. 2, 339--384 (2021; Zbl 1471.57019)] that classifies orbifolds having Euler number \(0\) Heegaard decompositions, and it is proved by showing that, for each model \(O\) of the quotients, any regular covering map \(\mathbb{RP}^3 \to O\) with non-abelian transformation group is equivalent to a standard one. The authors also study examples of group actions on \(\mathbb{RP}^3\) that do not respect any genus-\(1\) Heegaard decomposition.
