In the paper the authors characterize the strongly continuous composition semigroups acting on Besov spaces for \(1<p<\infty\), namely they consider the operators \(C_{\phi_t}f(z)=f(\phi_t(z))\) where \((\phi_t)_{t\ge0}\) is a one-parameter semigroup of analytic functions \(\phi_t:\mathbb D\to \mathbb D\) acting on the Besov spaces \(B_p\) of analytic functions defined on the unit disc such that \(\int_{\mathbb D} |f'(z)|^p (1-|z|^2)^{p-2}dA(z)<\infty\) for \(1<p<\infty\). They study when \(C_{\phi_t}\) are bounded and \(\lim_{t\to 0} \|C_{\phi_t}(f)-f\|_{B_p}=0\) for each \(f\in B_p\). It is shown that every semigroup is strongly continuous on \(B_p\) for \(2\le p <\infty\) but they find an example of a semigroup of analytic functions \((\phi_t)\) such that \(C_{\phi_t}\) is not even bounded on \(B_p\) for \(1<p<2\). This is done using the geometric properties of the image domain of the Koenigs function associated to the semigroup. Also it is shown that if the \(Re(G'(z))\) is bounded (where \(G\) is the infinitesimal generator of \(\phi_t\) ) then the strong continuity of \(C_{\phi_t}\) is guaranteed for any \(1<p<\infty\) and that the continuity of the semigroup in the uniform operator topology can not occur unless \((\phi_t)\) is trivial.
