Let \(K\) be a division ring. The authors study factorizations of matrices over \(K\) into products of matrices of some particular types. Their study is based on Dieudonné determinant properties. They show that if the center of \(K\) consists of at least \(n+2\) elements, then every \(n\times n\) matrix is a product of three diagonalizable matrices. In the case when \(K\) is a field satisfying condition \(|K|\geqslant n+2\), then two diagonalizable matrices are sufficient. Under the same assumption on \(K\) the authors present necessary and sufficient conditions for matrices to be expressed as product of a finite number (in fact \(2\), \(3\) or \(4\)) of Hermitian matrices and one diagonalizable matrix whose Dieudonné determinant is equal to the commutator class containing \(1\).
