This paper discusses a model of classical inhomogeneous cosmology, which besides a perfect fluid contains what the authors call a `tachyonic dust'. This is a fluid characterized by spacelike vectors in the energy--momentum tensor and is partly motivated by string theory. Its central property is that it provides a source of pressure without energy density. The authors point out that this tachyonic dust can be a candidate for dark matter (if pressure is positive) or for dark energy (if pressure is negative). They give explicit solutions of Einstein's equations applied to this model.
