In the paper under review, the authors explicitly compute the ordinary character table of the group \(\overline{G}=2^{16}:\mathrm{Sp}_{8}(2)\) using the Fischer-Clifford matrices technique [\textit{B. Fischer}, Prog. Math. 95, 1--16 (1991; Zbl 0804.20003)].
