In an ocean stratified into layers of different densities, temperatures or salinities, internal waves appear which propagates along the interfaces between the layers. The goal of this paper is the study of the interactions between long internal waves and free surface waves in a density-stratified two-layers fluid in deep water. To that purpose the authors propose and derive a coupled system of partial differential equations using the perturbation Hamiltonian theory. This system consists of a higher-order Benjamin-Ono (BO) equation coupled with a linear Schrödinger equation describing the time evolution of the internal wave and surface wave envelope, respectively.\N\NIn the last sections the authors establish a local well posedness result for a reduced BO-Schrödinger system.
