Let \(G\) be a finite group, \(p\) a prime number, and \(\mathcal O\) a complete discrete valuation ring with fraction field \(\mathcal K\) of characteristic zero and perfect residue field \(k={\mathcal O}/J(\mathcal O)\). Let \(b\) be a block of \({\mathcal O}G\), and let \(P_\gamma\) be a pointed defect group of the pointed group \(G_{\{b\}}\). If \(i\in\gamma\), then \(A_\gamma:=iAi\) together with its obvious \({\mathcal O}P\)-interior algebra structure is called a source algebra of \(b\). Denote also \(E_G(P_\gamma)=N_G(P_\gamma)/PC_G(P)\). The main result of the paper is a generalization of the main result of \textit{L.~Puig} [Invent. Math 141, No. 2, 365-397 (2000; Zbl 0957.20007)], which was proved in the case when the coefficient fields are large enough. It states that if \(E_G(P_\gamma)\) is a \(p'\)-group, then there exists a \(P\)-stable unitary \(\mathcal O\)-subalgebra \(D\) of \(A_\gamma\), unique up to \(J(A_\gamma)\)-conjugacy, such that \(D\cap Pi=Qi\) and \(A_\gamma=\bigoplus_{u\in[P/Q]}Du\). The algebra \(D\) is called the hyperfocal subalgebra of \(b\).
