Let \(V\) be a vector space over the field \(F\) of positive characteristic \(p\) and \(G\) a soluble \(p\)-subgroup of \(\text{GL}(V)\). Suppose that for each subspace \(W\) of \(V\) either \(WG/W\) or \(W\) modulo the maximum \(FG\)-submodule of \(V\) in \(W\) has finite dimension over \(F\). The authors' main result then states the following: \(V\) contains an \(FG\)-submodule \(W\) such that \(V/W\) and \([W,G]\) both have finite dimension over \(F\).
