The paper under review studies two investment policies for overflows the upper level of a dam. The dam studied in the paper is an \(M/M/1\) queueing system with virtual waiting time bounded by \(V\). Such type of dam model is associated with the finite dam process. Using restricted Laplace transforms, the paper characterizes two policies studied by computing the expected values of investments depending on the initial workload of the system \(x\) and the value \(V\).
