Let \(F\) be a field of characteristic \(2\). If \(B\) is a nondegenerate bilinear form over \(F\), one denotes by \(\widetilde{B}\) the associated totally singular quadratic form given by \(\widetilde{B}(x)=B(x,x)\). A bilinear Albert form \(A\) over \(F\) is a symmetric bilinear form that has up to scaling a diagonalization of type \(A=\langle a,b,ab,c,d,cd\rangle\), \(a,b,c,d\in F^*\). Let us assume \(A\) to be anisotropic. The author considers the question when \(A\) becomes isotropic over the function field \(F(B)\) where \(B\) is an anisotropic bilinear form and the function field is that of the quadric defined by \(\widetilde{B}=0\). The author gives a complete answer to this question which depends on whether \([F^2(a,b,c,d):F^2]=8\) or \(16\) (other values cannot occur for anisotropic \(A\)). The case of degree \(8\) follows from earlier work by the author. The present paper deals with the case of degree \(16\). As a consequence, the author is able to classify so called non-good anisotropic bilinear forms of height and degree \(2\) over fields of characteristic \(2\). These are exactly either Albert forms or certain \(8\)-dimensional forms \(B\) that, in the Witt ring of \(F\), can be written as a sum of a bilinear Albert form \(C\) and a scalar multiple of a \(3\)-fold bilinear Pfister form \(\pi\) such that both \(\widetilde{B}\) and \(\widetilde{C}\) are similar to subforms of \(\widetilde{\pi}\).
