For \(Q=(Q_0,Q_1)\) a quiver and \(\mathcal C=\{C_i\mid v_i\in Q_0\}\) a family of \(k\)-coalgebras indexed by the vertices of \(Q\) one can define the so-called generalized path coalgebra \(k(Q^c,\mathcal C)\). In the case when \(C_i=k\), for all \(v_i\in Q_0\), we have \(k(Q^c,\mathcal C)=kQ^c\), the usual path coalgebra associated to \(Q\), and this justifies the terminology. On the other hand, for \(G\) a finite group and \(r\) a ramification data of \(G\), that is an element of \(\mathbb N^{\mathcal D}\) where \(\mathbb N\) is the set of positive integers and \(\mathcal D\) is the set of conjugacy classes of \(G\), one can associate the Hopf quiver \(Q(G,r)\). The main aim of the paper is to give conditions under which \(k(Q^c,\mathcal C)\) admits a Hopf structure. Actually, it is shown that the following are equivalent: (i) \(Q\) is a Hopf quiver of some \((G,r)\) such that the coradical \(k(Q_0,\mathcal C)\) of \(k(Q^c,\mathcal C)\) is of \(G\)-type; (ii) \(k(Q_0,\mathcal C)\) is \(Q_0\)-closed and \(k(Q_1,\mathcal C)\) is a \(k(Q_0,\mathcal C)\)-Hopf bimodule via a given structure; (iii) \(k(Q^c,\mathcal C)\) admits a graded Hopf algebra structure with length grading, \(Q_0\)-closed coradical and \(\mathcal C\)-arrow-stable multiplication. This generalizes a result for path coalgebras proved by \textit{C. Cibils} and \textit{M. Rosso} [J. Algebra 254, No. 2, 241-251 (2002; Zbl 1020.16025)].
