Let \(K:={\mathbb F}_q\) denote the finite field of order \(q\). By a curve over \(K\) we shall mean a projective, non-singular, geometrically irreducible, algebraic curve defined over \(K\). By the Serre-Hasse-Weil theorem the number \(N\) of \(K\)-rational points of a curve over \(K\) satisfies \(|N-(q+1)|\leq g\lfloor 2\sqrt{q}\rfloor \), where \(g\) is the genus of the curve. In general it is a very difficult problem to find a closed formula for \(N\). In this paper the case of a hyperelliptic supersingular curve of genus \(g=4\) over \(K\) with \(q=2^n\) and \(n\) odd is worked out. For such a curve, \(N-(q+1)\in\{0, \pm \sqrt{2q}, \pm 2\sqrt{2q}, \pm 4\sqrt{2q}\}\). In addition, all the possiblities occur.
